WELCOME, I’M ADRIENNE

I help women understand and break the patterns of losing themselves.

For over 25 years, I've worked with women who are exhausted from putting everyone else first, managing other people's emotions, and driving themselves relentlessly to prove they're enough.

I’ve lived this too.

I became a therapist because I understood, from early in my life, what it cost to hold everything together.

I survived by managing everything, anticipating problems, and staying three steps ahead. That’s how I felt safe. I became an expert at appearing steady while ignoring everything my body was trying to tell me. I pushed through anxiety, overrode exhaustion, and refused to slow down.

Beneath that surface was unprocessed trauma, anxiety, insomnia, and an emotional volatility I couldn't understand.

My nervous system was running on emergency protocols.

Each time I burned out, I'd tighten my grip even more, mistaking control for safety, dissociation for strength, and distance from my body as healing.

Graduate school taught me theory. And my own healing taught me another important piece of the puzzle: the behaviours we shame ourselves for are often protective strategies we developed to survive.

MY PATH TO
THIS WORK

The body holds wisdom the mind has forgotten.

I'm a licensed psychotherapist and marital & family therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience.

Early in my career, I felt constrained by traditional therapeutic models. These models treated the mind as primary and ignored the body. They pathologized normal responses to impossible conditions, asking women to manage symptoms without naming the systems that created them. Emotion was separated from intelligence, as if feelings were problems to solve.

I watched women arrive in therapy exhausted, anxious, disconnected from their own needs. They’d been told their distress was individual pathology rather than intelligent response to cultural conditioning.

This led me to study what I call sacred feminine psychology — frameworks that understand women's psychological development on its own terms.

WHY I PRACTICE DIFFERENTLY

It's about:

  • Cyclical development rather than linear

  • Body wisdom integrated with psychological understanding

  • Developmental transitions unique to women's lives

  • Understanding the psychological impact of patriarchal conditioning

  • Working with archetypal patterns (like Maiden, Mother, Queen, Crone) that shape women's psychological lives

I practice now from an integration of clinical psychology and sacred feminine psychology attuned to women's particular psychological reality.

MY APPROACH

You're navigating patterns that once protected you but no longer serve you — and learning to trust yourself again.

I don't reduce you to symptoms or diagnoses. I meet you as a whole person with a story that makes sense, even when it's painful.

My practice integrates clinical psychology with sacred feminine psychology, bringing together attachment-based therapeutic approaches with frameworks that honor women's cyclical development, body wisdom, and developmental transitions.

In our work together, you're not broken and needing repair.

I offer therapy that is clinically grounded, relationally focused, and honours the full complexity of women's lives.
